disabling over voltage protection on amp?

Couldn't you just cap the one amp the protects since none of the others are affected? Just my thought. I have no experience in this area tho. So I could be wrong.

i have about (5) 1 fared caps laying around i think i might just try this....this is the interior amp that is shutting down and is not a big amperage hog as i would think its only pulling about 50 amps putting out around 100x4 on peak

Alright. Cuz what I seem to understand from here is caps even out little spikes in voltage IF you have the electrical to back it up. And it sounds like you do so I think this could work for spikes as well as dips. Try it and let us know bro!

i really like the 14.6-14.8 charging voltage i have it really makes a difference when you start to slam the sounds as my amps put out the true r.m.s. output @14.1..it is really noticable when the volotage is up and you spin that mechman @ about 1500-2000 r.p.m. its just the spike in between the bass drops of pulling close to 600 amp current draw to nothing and it throws that alt. close to 16.0 volts till it finds it correct chargeing voltage

I'm seeing about a 14.2 charging voltage sitting here @ about 220 degrees engine temp...and about 14.5 driving while the engine is around 200 degrees driving with 35 degree ambient temp here...seems the mechman likes the cooler temp as I visually see the voltage increase as the engine cools as I drive....I might add as I have a f-body car and has no grill it is under bumper cover cooled by an air dam

All alts charge higher when colder, there are exceptions but that happens below freezing generally. Hot I charge 14.1, cold 14.7.
