i dont understand how both coils died so abruptly...

doesn't sound like cooked coils man, more like torn tinsel leads, is the sub locked up? did you smell anything weird last time it played?

neither happened...you think a recone would fix it...ill recone it this week... no complaints!

15$ grinder and a 3$ flap wheel from harbour freight. Your running Dd but cant afford the tools to properly recone them..
