Benjamin Amparo Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 im currently running pa speakers in my car, they get loud and are pretty clear, but they seem to really lack in mid bass. i was considering getting the jbl p660c and running them off the 2 front channels and then running 2 mids in the back . now my question is will the pa mids be alot louder than the jbls, is it even ok to mix these kind of speakers. btw speakers i currently have are 6.5 pyle pros and 5.25 pyle pros. interested in jbl p660c. amp is an old autotek sx-5750- 5 channel amp 75rms x 4 at 4 ohm and 100rms x4 at 2 ohm. bridged 200rms at 4. 97 Lexus ES 300 Source: clarion cs702 Front stage: faital pro 6fe200, seas prestige 27tafnc/g Subs: soundqubed hds212 x2 Amp: mids and highs PPI P900.4. subs Alpine MRP-M850
Skullz Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 Those JBL's will kick the shit out of anything else you put in there so there is really no need to put anything in the back. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2

Skullz Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 Excellent speakers for the price point, and you will not be disappointed with them. The only thing that is necessary is to deaden the doors very well. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2

Benjamin Amparo Posted February 14, 2013 Author Report Posted February 14, 2013 @skullz quick question are you running these active or passive. and how much power do you think they can handle. thanks 97 Lexus ES 300 Source: clarion cs702 Front stage: faital pro 6fe200, seas prestige 27tafnc/g Subs: soundqubed hds212 x2 Amp: mids and highs PPI P900.4. subs Alpine MRP-M850
Skullz Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 I run passive so as to protect the tweeters from getting to much power. My amp is very capable of producing 225w + at 2 ohms to power those so i need the passives protection. EDIT: Most of JBL's offering are capable of taking lots of power and giving back what you put into them. 01 Ford focus ZX3 Pioneer AVH-X491BHS PPI PC 4800.2 Morel Maximo 6.5" x2
bcbrassard Posted February 14, 2013 Report Posted February 14, 2013 Ya make sure you sound deaden the shit out of your doors. I put one layer thru out the inner skin and door panel skin where i mounted my T265 comps and been doing more reasearch and thinking about putting a second layer on foam in there for SQ. As for rear speakers, if you want some rear fill do it, its just prefference of listener and system build. SQ guys say there no need and SQL or SPL guys say hell ya. good luck buddy, let us know how you like those speakers. I have heard alot people using them on these forums.
