scarykds01 Posted February 5, 2008 Report Posted February 5, 2008 ok i have 2 alpine type r 15s in a ported box built to specs and im getting ready to put a audiobahn a2300hcx 2400 watt rms @ 1ohm amp. i have a kinetik hc600 powercell and i also have a spl 2.4 farad cap. which of the 2 are better? im also unable to decided between decks i have a pioneer deh-p5900ib and a alpine cda-9856. im in the process of changing my system. advice would be great Quote

The ones that are the "500" series are from 2007 so maybe find one cheap left over but new on ebay/store, the "600" series is the 2008 lineup. I had the Alpine 9856 and the removal and installation of the faceplate was enough to make me not want to do it which defeats the purpose of a det. face deck....it's also only 2V preouts whereas most the others metnioned are 4v or 5v preouts, which makes a diff if you have heard it. If you are going to do it.. might as well do it right..i was told that the cap is a 2.5 farad cap. but my prob is when i play my music the lights dim even with the hc600 power cell im not running anything major i have 2 type r 15s (new style) in box built to specs. and a mtx ta7801 mono block amp with a 4gauge amp kit. and im thinking of changing out the amp with a audiobahn 2300hcx. but i dont know if that will make them dim more. Plus your gonna want to go 1/0 if you plan on running an Audiobahn amp (those amps are whores). An alt upgrade and a second battery is going to be your best to stop the lights dimming. Not sure if the Kinetik 600 will fit up front if so put that there and run a second battery to the back a 2400 if possible. Your running 15's and unless they are a flea market brand that is not a small system. A small system is a single 10 or 12 sealed off of 100 watts.
