Swordlordboy1234 Posted February 18, 2013 Report Posted February 18, 2013 My equipment is listed below so I'm not re typing that.But...I had the regular RCA's and my gain was set with a -10 db and it was around half gain on the amp. (I have 4 volt sub outs on my headunit) when I changed to the new Premium quality RCA's(let me just say they are sexy as hell and have quality written all over them)I noticed it sounded different.I went to re set my gains and this time I hardly got over 1/4 gain before I found distortion. But it sounds just as loud to the ear, maybe a bit cleaner and lows a bit more defined.Did the higher quality RCA's transfer my output voltage better from my headunit to my bass amp? Making it so I needed less gain to achieve -10 db tuning with my DD1? THANKS DD1 Lol i can see the gain changing based on going from a set of RCA's with high resistance to one with less. It would have to be a big difference though. Then again, cheap ass RCA's are cheap for a reason LOL. Upgrading was a good thing no matter what. The jacket on them was thin, and the male end of the RCA was plastic in the center! Lol.... My new ones are all real metal and the jacket is ridiculous....they look like really high end knu RCA's. The connection is so secure I have to actually try to pull them out where as my old ones would almost fall out simply due to bass. Lesson here.... Don't cheap out on stuff.
