Box for a single 15 Scion xb 2006?

Previously built a single kicker l7 15 box that was much bigger than i want to do on this scion.

This one is a kicker cvr round 15.

Looking for a 3.5 cubed net port up sub up setup. With 12 inches of port area per and a tuning of 35hz.

No 45's or double baffle since it will only be about 600rms.

Bracing can be two pieces of 1.25 inch wooden dowels and displacement of the sub is .2

Max dimensions are 37.5 width. 16.5 depth. and the tallest is 17.5 inches so it can be just below the head rests in the back seat.

The depth of 16.5 is a must but the rest can be changed.

37.5 wide, 16.5 height, 17 depth. You'll flip the box obviously on its back so it's subs up port up. Port 4" wide and total port length of 28"(15" height since your baffle is 16.5"). I entered .18 for displacement of sub. Im seeing 16.71 square inches per foot of port and 35 Hz tune with 3.59 cubes net

Yeah whatever i was going to end up with i was going to flip the box up lol for port up sub up.

I really rather stick with the 12 inches of port per as i was talking with kicker for a while and they thought to try it at least once since all of my boxes have been 15 inches per or more.

A drawing of the box and cuts like joe x does it will help a whole lot for me.

Im not doing a drawing and a cut sheet dude. If you want a design, learn how. It's damn straight forward and especially when you know your outside dimensions. You shouldn't need to visualize much, is a rectangular box with a port and a hole for a sub....

To stick to in the 12 square inch per foot range:

37 by 16.5 height by 15.5" depth

3" wide port, 20" port length. 12.64 square inches per foot, 3.56 cubes net, tune at 35.49 Hz

I didnt ask you specifically to do it that is why im asking if some one can for me. Im not really good at drawing it out and the build is soon.

Other people have asked and gotten some help thats why im hoping i could get a quick drawing with my dimensions. I know im lucky to get help but if you dont want to do it its cool im not forcing you.

So here the box done on your specs I would actually recommend a little larger box:

Enclosure Specifications:

Fb = 35 Hz
Vb = 3.5 ft^3

External Height = 17 in
External Width = 37 in
External Depth = 16 in

Port Width = 3 in

Cut Sheet List:

* All Dimensions in Inches.
* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.

External Enclosure Parts:

2 x Top & Bottom (3 parts) = 37 x 16

Left & Right Sides = 14 1/2 x 14 3/4

Front & Back = 37 x 14 3/4

L Port Internal Assembly Parts:

Top to Bottom = 11 3/4 x 14 1/2
Extension = 3 3/8 x 14 1/2

Can you make it have 12 inches of port per cube as well as firing both sub and port back so i can simply just flip it up when i install it.

The sub baffle being the same dimensions you put on this one. Thanks a lot again.

Port area is 43.5 square inches, net volume is 3.5 cubes so 43.5/3.5 = 12.4 square inches per cube which is right around the spec you asked.

Ok thanks a lot joe, without those 45's i still build it the same right?

Also these box specs were given to me from emailing kicker and advised me that these were specs i should go with. Basically im just curious as well about these specs since i usually make my boxes with 15-16 inches per.

Yes you can do without the 45s as long as your building job is good, do round or slant the inner edges of the port ends and at the turn if possible. See how it goes for you with the spec you were given.
