I will be receiving two oa 18s i kno there are box calculators but ive never used them i would appreciate some help on a ported enclosure subs facing up ports to the rear they will be goin in a 02 tahoe. Not sure if it matters but two zapco reference 1000s will provide the power and zapco px the equalization. Thanks in advance. THE DRIVING FORCE
Joe X Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 So here is a suggestion, check the dimensions suggested to fit your space: Enclosure Specifications:Fb = 32 HzVb = 11 ft^3External Height = 21 inExternal Width = 45 inExternal Depth = 30.375 inPort Width = 33 inPort Height = 4 inCut Sheet List:* All Dimensions in Inches.* Wood Thickness is 3/4 for all Parts.External Enclosure Parts:2 x Top & Bottom (3 parts) = 45 x 30 3/8Left & Right Sides = 28 7/8 x 18 3/4Front & Back = 45 x 18 3/4L Port Internal Assembly Parts:Front to Back = 19 3/8 x 34 1/2Port Left Side Assembly:19 3/8 x 4Port Right Side Assembly:19 3/8 x 4 Assembly guide (generic dimensions): Important notes:- The port needs 4" of free airspace in front of it for proper operation.- Setting your amp subsonic filter to 28Hz is suggested. - All the bracing shown is necessary for proper operation.

Joe X Posted February 27, 2013 Report Posted February 27, 2013 It will play down to 25Hz like it is above, anyways it can be done bigger and tuned lower is just about how much space are you willing to give up and more importantly that the port is not too near to the rear gate so check that to be within 4"-6".
