robby512 Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 I have 4 e 12's and want to face 2 subs on the ends of the box down and 2 in the middle up. Would that be okay? Or would it cause cancellation ? Or sound fantastic? Or do you need to reverse polaritys or change the phase?
Wicks Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 Reverse the polarity on the inverted subs and you're good to go! robby512 Posted February 28, 2013 Author Report Posted February 28, 2013 But isn't inverted meaning face to face I'm talking 2 looking up and 2 looking down not connected to each other ? And they are all on one mono block amp so just wire it the same just switch positive negative? And I want them wired down to one ohm so just same wiring? Just switch the two negatives and positives?
robby512 Posted February 28, 2013 Author Report Posted February 28, 2013 They are not going to be inverted 2 will be in the middle of the box facing up and 2 will be on the bottom of the box facing down
purplesyrup Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 Reverse the polarity on the inverted subs and you're good to go! this
robby512 Posted February 28, 2013 Author Report Posted February 28, 2013 So just reverse polarities and it will be fine? And no cancellation?
Wicks Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 Face to face is called isobaric. Inverting is turning it backwards. Just reverse the wiring on a matching pair of subs and wire the other two normal. Wicks Posted February 28, 2013 Report Posted February 28, 2013 So just reverse polarities and it will be fine? And no cancellation? By reversing the polarities on the inverted subs all the cones will be moving in the same direction = no cancelation.
