Mikey Bates
I just installed a singer 250a alt and my car runs about 14-14.1 volts, I wanted to charge closer to 15v or even it be adjustable. The alt is externally regulated, and it's in a 99 jeep grand cherokee... And the alt has a 2 pin pigtail connector. Other than the xs VCMs because they do t work for this, what could I use? Links would be helpful!! Thanks guys

audiofanaticz
You cant use an external voltage regulator, unless you remove the internal voltage regulator that is currently in the alternator, and have it set up for the external. So you would have to send the alternator back to Singer to do that. Here are a couple types of external regulators. This is one of the more commonly used ones http://store.alternatorparts.com/partno91102r.aspx or could contact mechman, and get one of these made for your vehicle http://store.mechmanhighoutputalternators.com/adjustable-voltage-boost-module-for-gm-alternators-w-4-pin-oval-plug/ and this would allow you to keep the internal regulator. I know they make them because I ordered an alt from mechman for a guy with a jeep, and got the adjustable thing for it
