Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist?

I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . .

What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself

but what has drawn your attention

in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums

An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space

Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears,

thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener.

Cool I'm about to research where I'd put the terminals and what not

you can just put bolts on there and hook the wires straight to those. But if you want actual terminals part express sells some, I have a pair I bought from them and love them. I personally like the look of real terminals just for the cleanness of it all.

It's going into a trunk car right? I have no idea hot that would effect the sound or if firing in that direction would cause more rattle than it's worth.

I would ask some people that have had experience dealing with that.

Yeah it would. If you post a pic sometime tomorrow people can look at it and help.

you would be better off using aeroports to gain a bit of volume...

17 x 40 x 21.5

2 6" aeroports 15inches long

gives you 5.81cubes and 35hz tuning

double baffle...you can put the 2 ports in the center of the subs with everything facing forward or backwards...

here is a link to buy 6" aeroports

For 5.81 cubes tuned to 35 Hz you will need a full length of aero port 18"

ssx_zpse74d6c24.png

The problem that will arise, you would not have sufficent gap between the rear of the port and the back wall, minimum gap should be = to the diameter of the port.

Now, depth = 21.5, so,

21.5 - 0.75 = 20.75

20.5-18 = 2.75

Hence, you gap would be 2.75" which is too small for that 6'' aero port.

Fixed You get 5.33 cubes without bracing and single baffle.

Idk how these sub act with less air space so might want to see what some one with experience with them says.

Net volume is too low and also the port area per cuft.

Just not enough gross volume to work with with the slot port.

The problem with using aero ports is the flares are huge (9 1/4" width). Make sure you can fit them in the front baffle with both 15's. You would almost certainly have to double baffle so you wil lose a bit of volume there. i think the actual width on the sa-15 is more than 15" so double check that when you figure where everything is going.

Also, you can run the aero ports partially external, you can have a few inches stick out of the front of the box to get clearance you need inside the box. You also want to try to keep from having any obstructions in front of the port at least the width of the port too.

I have seen people just use regular PVC pipe for it. I have never tested the difference between the two so idk how much more you can get out of the flared ports.

And parts-express is a good place to order from.
