And I know it was mentioned on what a stock bottom end can handle but the numbers you guys were using were conservative. I've heard 900-1000 on the crank(depending on the specific motor). The stock cast connecting rods are your weak link. Forged rods and you don't have to worry about the bottom end until you're deep into some UP.

So have you decided on motor? You've taken cathedral port heads or of the equation with that intake choice. 350-450HP will be very easy to achieve depending on your parts list.

im going with ls3 cnc ported heads and the biggest cam i can fit in it.. will be a custom grind and not off the shelve

i have the intake assembled. just waiting on the throttle body to finish it off

Which throttle body are you going with? Aftermarket cam is a great idea. Stock grinds will lose you horsepower until you're north of 5K in the revs. Most GM cams will lose over whatever the stock one came with until the high revs kick in. To me it wouldn't be worth the loss and low end grunt.

Do you have an aftermarket flex plate idea yet?
