Nivram Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 id go more like 15-18 sq in per cube So like 150 sqin total should be good Walled 2002 buick century A.K.A "Betty sue" polk 5 1/2 front doors 4 3in pillar speakers DD 3518's AQ 3500 v2 90ft of 0/1 ga tuned to 40hz :build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/162721-buick-built-in-trunk-fi-sp4-hifonics-2400/
Nivram Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 you will be loud but you wont be able to play to low. it would be super close to free airing at that point with that large of a port. DD dont need 30 hz tuning to get down. give me cone area of 2 15s DD 15s, and some power and that will get low. big boxes on the right power will get very low. you need to stop thinking 20 hz is low. that is near inaudible. haha you are tuned to 28 hz but you cant play 38hz. how do you play music? let the DD guys handle this. SlamminBeats Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 i wouldnt go below 36 hz with dd...just my .02 DD themselves say 35hz
SlamminBeats Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 I couldn't control myself on this one. http://www.ebay.com/itm/190804077562?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Lookin for a ideas as far as enclosure, amplifier etc. for this setup. I already have one dd9512 in 3cu tuned to 32hz on an aq2200. I only have one xs power d6500 up front on stock alt with big 3 in 0g so, I'm guessing another bat and mechman 240 alt would be sufficient? you got a build log?

Nivram Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 just because im not a dd nut hugger or into peaky high bass doesnt mean I cant build a box for spl aka high bass. high bass isnt impressive to me. to each there own. but for me a 150 at 30hz is more impressive then a 155 at 50hz. Nivram Posted March 13, 2013 Report Posted March 13, 2013 i cant explain how a 28hz tune sounds you would just have to hear it as far as high bass yea i can play 38hz but its not loud at all its just there ,could be my low pass on the amp that wont let me play loud at higher freq. but atm 30-33 is where im the loudest but i can drop down to 24hz all day 20hz is the limit. I produce my own slowed music as well so i can make songs play at any freq i want. I was out in a2 this week but slammin wasnt in town so i didnt stop by to demo. im still out there but not as often. and honestly i dont plan on being a trunk car for to much longer. trunks are weak. Im supposed to pick up a powerbass xta 5000 soon so once that is had wall build will begin. now that i know what 28hz tune sounds like in my car I prolly wont tune as low for the wall. 28hz tune was an experiment lol the wall shal be tuned to 30-32 Walled 2002 buick century A.K.A "Betty sue" polk 5 1/2 front doors 4 3in pillar speakers DD 3518's AQ 3500 v2 90ft of 0/1 ga tuned to 40hz :build: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/162721-buick-built-in-trunk-fi-sp4-hifonics-2400/
