@john253 thanks for the input. I would like to have a proper box for the l7s. Anyone one here I should look up that would ship it. I'm no box builder. Also 2x15=30 and 3x12=36...lol

noone else see this

anyway, it doesnt work like that

to make it easy will go off the actual size and not the true cone size

15 x15 x2off 450sq"

(6 x6 x(22/7)) x3off 340sq" (pieRsq for round)

now thats 25% less cone to change or 33% more cone to stay

edit

post up some measurements

well see what we can do

but i can tell you the box will be somewhere around 22x48x22" if you want it done right

and if your box is nowhere near that in size then you will see more of a difference doing that then any other upgrade or mod

Thanks for the info. The subs are in separate single boxes....long story. So no, my box is not adequate. I have room for a box built to spec, I just need someone to build it.

The reason for considering the change was that obsidian subs require less power to sound great. I thought about 2 18s but I have never had 18s before.

Also, I saw these wire connector that were for 1/0, made of metal, had a small Allen screw to secure the wire in the fitting but most importantly it reduced the size of the 1/0 wire to allow it to fit into amp without 1/0 terminals. What are they? Where can I get them?

Plenty of guys build boxes on here. where do you live, perhaps there is someone local that can help you with this. I build boxes, but I'm balls deep in a project for another member on here and can't take on the job of helping you with yours. Plus a box for 15s would be big and expensive to ship.

Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Ok I have decided to get rid of the L7s. I am going to go with three obsidian 15s D2. My new question is would the AQ2200.1 be enough for it?

yes it will be fine running at 1.33ohm

and the power delivered to subs is good as well as long as its set right

on that power you should be abole to go around 11net no problems
