Starting out my system . . .opinons and advise welcome! Pics of test hookup.

I haven't had a system in my car for at least 10 years, and damn, shit has changed! I won't say that money is no object by no means, I have 3 kids, mortgage, boat, and teenagers who want everything under the sun. But I know I don't want to waste money on crap, so I came up with what I could with what I had.

My daily driver is a 2011 Camaro. I bought a Subthump.com sealed box to fit in my trunk in anticipation of putting some Kickers or MTX's in there. Then I found the SMD koolaid, with talk of shit I have never heard of before beyond my wildest imagination.

My first system back in 1994 was 2 12" pyles in a homemade box-sealed with a 150 watt amp. So cheap I don't even remember the brand.

So since then I've grown tired of wiping asses and changing diapers, and my kids are 9 through 16, I thought it was time for a change.

So far, I have the subthump.com sealed box, 2 SA-12's, AQ2200d amp, Clarion EQS746, and stock radio. I ran knuconcepts kolussus 0 gauge wire from alt to battery (in the back in Camaro), Stinger RCA's to the back. I'm still in test mode, so I haven't completed the big 3 completely, or permanently mounted wiring and amp down.

I have Polk Dxi690's in the rear deck, and Sundown Audio Neo Pro 6.5's in the door, powered by a Massive Audio NX4 already with plans to replace it with a BX4.

Long term, in the next couple of months, I plan to replace the aq2200d with a SAZ-2500d, and switch out subthump's sealed boxes with ported boxes. I bought and tuned everything with SMD-CC1 and SMD-DD1, and for now, it's pretty bangin for my own word's worth, but I know there's room for improvement, but I think I have a good start.

If you don't like what I have or what I've done so far, then go bang a wall or your mom again, since I wore that shit out for you already. If you have constructive criticism or positive input, I'm all ears.

OH Yeah . . . And the laptop seems to run much better with the upgrades . . .

Only thing like you said. Make a proper ported box and to be honest I wouldn't get the saz-2500. It's not that much more improvement over what you already have IMO

This is pretty much exactly what I was gonna say. Keep the 2200. Build a 3.5-3.9ft box and you're set to go.

Hey looks good so far, was wondering how you like the massive audio amp? Team mate of mine was talking about those the other night. Oh and lets see a vid of them sundowns doing work.

Love the Massive, good clean crisp sound.

As you can see in the pic, I'm really limited on space where the amp goes, so the massive was a perfect fit for what I needed.

no need to replace the AQ2200...just get you a nice port box built, I would personally try to seal it forward from the trunk if possible...

did you have any plans to get a HU to upgrade the stock stereo?
