arcaudioman
If my box is tuned to 35 hz is that what my amp should be set to? And should I use subsonic with a sealed box?
Mikey Bates
The subsonic would be 35hz maybe a hair lower or higher and your low pass should be 80-100 again depending
mnrookie
I always set the subsonic a half octave below tuning frequency with a ported box. In your case that would be 26.25. I would set it to 27.

arcaudioman
I want as low as possible without damage
mnrookie
If I read his first post correctly it sounds as if he had questions about 2 boxes, 1 ported and 1 sealed. I gave him subsonic for the ported since it looked as though yours were for a sealed.
arcaudioman
Sorry for the confusion only 1 sealed box 3 cu ft total and I did a bandpass in my 03 accord... so 80ish lp and 33 ssf?
SnowDrifter
Set your low pass to ~80hz. Maybe a bit higher or a bit lower depending on what sounds best to you. Personally, I like 60hz Bass boost all the way down Phase all the way down Gain to wherever it should be according to a DD-1 or O-scope And set your SSF as low as possible without causing mechanical damage to your subs. I've found there is no good way to do this mathematically since each setup will be different. Play a 40hz to 20hz sweep full tilt with your SSF turned up. Keep repeating the sweep and slowly turning our SSF down until it is as low as it can be without damaging the subs ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
SnowDrifter
Wait you have a bandpass tuned to 35? You shouldn't need a SSF with a 4th order. A properly sized sealed side should adequately control the sub ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
