Hey guys, I recently was inspired by Steve Meade and many others on this forum to do my own build. I have been out of car audio for a while and want to get back into it. Anyhow after I spent the weekend building a enclosure and using the 2 12" PPI C1 (Generic) subs I realize they are never going to produce the sound I want, so this weekend I am gonna order 2 new subs and a amp, I have many questions about what amp I want to get as far as should I get a mono block class D, or a 2 channel amp, I plan on getting 2 12" re audio 2ohm subs or the kicker comp cvr 2ohm subs. The mono amp is about a solid 1000 watts rms. Another one of my questions is where to buy, I found this site (http://www.hifisoundconnection.com/) can you tell me if its legit or where is a good place to order.

Thanks in advance!

May I ask what your budget for subs and an amp is total?

Personally, I like ordering from http://www.wooferwarehouse.com/ and http://store.soundsolutionsaudio.com/ because they carry a lot of the less-known brands I and many others here favor for their superior quality. When I need something like a head unit wiring harness or anything from a big-name manufacturer I look to http://www.sonicelectronix.com/

I'm gonna hate

im gonna be honest, you would be better off getting one really good sub as opposed to getting 2 average/low end drivers

That may not be necessary.

I take it you don't like RE Audio? I've only had one RE sub and I can't say that I've ever had any complaints about it, considering what I payed.

Did I ever tell you, what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is, doing the exact same fucking thing, over and over again, expecting shit to change. That. Is. Crazy.

That RE sub you linked to is the exact model I have. Definitely can't complain for that price. I would certainly recommend it. It's clean, and it can get decently loud.

i ran re before, theyre good.

i guess im all about saving up for something you really want and getting the best product that makes you happy

I can understand that. But i mean, at only $150 shipped the SEX is a pretty good deal.

I would suggest wiring each sub in series to 4 ohms and then wire them both in parallel so the amp will get a 2 ohm load. According to that amps specs, they will get more then enough power. In theory you could even get 4 2ohm SEXs and wire them into 1 ohm and still have enough power with that amp. But theory almost never matches what will happen in practice.
