Wicks
Ahh you changed your text, so it does do it while plugged in. At what volume? Wicks
Can you get into the amp and find the power rails? You could set your DMM on ACV and measure for AC ripple on the power rails. Try the shorting trick though, with the signal cables disconnected. I'm not entirely sure what I'd be looking for, so I'll post up a gut shot for some guidance lol. One thing of note: My multi meter (Klein CL2000) doesn't seem to measure high-frequency AC very well - It's not at all accurate ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
Wicks
The BIG caps in the middle of the amp, they're across your power rails. Try to measure across them if you can. Be careful though, that's high voltage DC. Depends on your definition of high frequency. You can hear the noise so we're talking below 20KHz. When you get into MHz and GHz, things get weird... Do you have another amp to try in the same location as the noisy one? Wicks
Dang 1kHz is a bit low...lol Hmmm, you have a phone App that does an RTA function? Yep they're cheesy and not very accurate but it may get you in the ballpark of what frequency the noise is. That may help point to where its coming from...? If you're ambitious, Walmart and Best Buy have cheap amps and a good return policy.. Vito Basser
Does the noise go away if you unhook the remote wire? You should not get any noise from speakers with the stereo off...

8ight
If the noise isn't changing with volume level that means it is occurring AFTER your amplifier. You are picking up noise on the actual wire running to the tweeters (easily possible although many will tell you that it is not wrongly). If you care enough to do anything wild you may be able to fix or better it but in the meantime it appears to me that you have just noticed your poor noise floor. I'm gonna hate
