SnowDrifter
I just noticed this today. I can hear a static hiss coming through my super tweets. It's faint, but it's there. Doesn't matter whether the RCAs are plugged in or not, nor whether the car is on or off. It's not alt whine, but it sounds like a white noise ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
rocking.that.eclipse
Did you check your ground? Or maybe check the wires running to your tweets for a fray.
Wicks
The amp inputs are unterminated and therefore floating. Like you said it's probably picking up random white noise from the air. Short the two input conductors and I bet it goes away. SnowDrifter
Connections are tight. I went out there with a wrench and made sure of it lol.No frays on the wires going to the tweets either ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

Wicks
Short the RCA center conductor to the outside conductor with some wire, a shorting plug, a relatively low ohm resistor... Is the noise a problem? You said only when the signal cables are unplugged so it shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure a lot of amps do this when disconnected. Wicks
What does your TV do when it's modulator (off-air signal) has no signal? Snowy white and black screen (white noise), right?! SnowDrifter
How would I short out the RCAs while they are plugged in?Are you sure that would work? Seems like it would screw up the source when it's putting a signal into a couple ohms vs. 20k ohms ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
