1996BLKBauer
So recently I blew one of my subs, due to a very low subsonic frequency, and a very high volume. My Amplifier (Alpine MRP-M500) does not have a Subsonic filter build in, but I would like to have a little bit more insurance, other then me just watching how loud I play songs with subsonic frequencies? I know the lowest a human can hear with perfect hearing is 20Hz, I know my hearing is not perfect so maybe even a little higher up, like 30Hz, or even 40Hz cut off, just so I can save my subwoofers, and not play frequency's I am unable to hear. So does such a thing exist? Thanks for any input. 1996 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V8 AWD So far with the Ford/JBL Stock Stereo system, Alpine System coming soon. SnowDrifter
You can get a crossover with a subsonic function Or you can get something like this. Less adjustability though http://store.hlabs.com/pk4/store.pl?view_product=13 Does it make sense to get a crossover for just my Sub amp? I plan on running a mids and highs amp, but it may not be for some time. I mean what is a price range for a decent tone that has a subsonic filter? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Harrison-Lab-F-Mod-FMOD-30hz-Subsonic-Rumble-Filter-XOs-/290506420336?pt=US_Speaker_Parts_Components&hash=item43a3883070 Just googled it might be better ones out there... They seem to be the same thing, for about the same price. There does no seem to be one that jumps out as being better then any other. 1996 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V8 AWD So far with the Ford/JBL Stock Stereo system, Alpine System coming soon. Well if you need the functionality, then it makes perfect sense. Given the price point of your amp, I think you'd be better getting a different one though. Or just watching your volume and if something is low, don't full-tilt it ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

I think I will just go with the Inline subsonic filters for now, and maybe an crossover when I make a substantial upgrade in the future. Thanks for the advice, and the links. 1996 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer V8 AWD So far with the Ford/JBL Stock Stereo system, Alpine System coming soon.
