HunterJohnson
So I've been trying to get this figured out and I simply cant. I have a Pioneer 80 PRS and amps are Alpine MRV f407, F1507, T575 (Early 90's Expert series amps) I have tried turning them on, sending a signal through, trying to check with it off, and sometimes I get a conntinuity check and other times its blank. Can you guys please help me and also if you know if they are SE or Differential. Thank you! ImaNoob
I wrote a email to pioneer about my 7800mp, the responded with ( the output is a unbalanced signal ) .. I would do the same if your unsure Quote 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Xs3400 1500BDCP FI BL 12 3sq @ 32hz Rockford t675 T400.2 Stinger Deadner Build Log Here
HunterJohnson
Ok I have a theory.... LMK if this makes sense. When I hook up the amp on my test bench both MRV1507 and MRVf407 (the other one is in my car) The protection light flashs red which means: RCA GROUND FLOAT This makes sense because I don't have a common ground on my test bench, its just a 120V to 13.8 10AMP converter and the signal is comingfrom AUX-RCA Y splitter (twisted RCA). Basically this means the amps are SINGLE ENDED because it is looking for a common round between the RCA and the Battery (in my case converter) Edited April 13, 2013 by HunterJohnson Quote Scion tC SQ BuildiPad mini, lots of fabrication, daily drivenFord Explorer C Pillar Wall Build Just a cheap car to destroy with bass
Wicks
Use a DMM and measure the resistance from the RCA outside conductors to the device's chassis or ground terminal. If you see basically a direct short, it's single ended (unbalanced). Wicks
Everything unpowered and disconnected. Resistance between the RCA outside conductor and the amps ground terminal. General procedure: <1ohm = single ended ~1000-ish ohms = balanced No connection = your HU probly blew its pico fuse Quote This post sent with 100% recycled electrons. 2004 BMW M3Mechman 280A 2 - XS Power XP30001 - XS Power D375 500F of Maxwell SuperCaps (soon to be 1000F) iPadMini2Dash mounted O-scopeAudison bitOne (Remote DRC MP) Highs Amp - PPI Art A404 Hertz HSK130 (HSK165 waiting...) No power or connections. Twisted RCA's for me Quote Scion tC SQ BuildiPad mini, lots of fabrication, daily drivenFord Explorer C Pillar Wall Build Just a cheap car to destroy with bass
