Ok so i have got my Type X wired up in my car and the subwoofer seems every quiet on any frecuency except for low notes. When it comes to the lows it pounds pretty nice. The amp im using is a Polk audio PAD 1000.1 wired at 2ohms for 800 watts rms. The box right now is a sealed tapered box. Its 12' length at the top and goes to 15" length on the bottom. Its 15" height and 15"width. I liked the box because it wouldnt take up a ton of space in my car but the subwoofer is so quiet its annoying haha. Was wondering if you guys know any reputable box makers that would be in canada or can ship to canada. im Looking for a ported box for it. What dimensions would be the best? Thanks guys!

go on reboxcalculator.com and play with the box size. sealed boxes are notorious for being quiet. ported boxes will always be louder.

First off, reboxcalculator is not accurate. Torres Box Calculator is much more accurate. And sealed/ported boxes have their different applications and purposes. Sealed isnt quiet, it may be quietER versus a properly built/designed ported box.

well let me clear it up, if you took a Sundown SA-12 and built 2 boxes. same amp, same car. One to sealed specs, and one to ported specs, the ported box will be 3-5 db's louder

Theoretically. Anyways OP, there's a box maker close to the canada border who lives in Oregon that built my current box. DLdesignz.com. Talk to him tell him Hunter sent you and he will probably knock a few bucks off. But you should learn how to build one honestly.

Sealed are everything BUT "strong on lows" compared to ported. I would ask you what do you have for front stage speakers (and even rear fill), do you have a front stage amp?
