White Lightning
So you have one amp for everything ?? So when you switch to the Rockford ... What will power the subs ?? Sutliff
A Rockford t500.1bdCP for the subs. Right now I just have a pair of 12" kicker comps in IB and running off the mono block side of the zx550.3. I Have been saving up for a major sub and amp overhaul. White Lightning
I it was mine and I was keeping the "IB" setup ... I would have stayed with the Kickers ... Then again ... thats just me. Also not sure why your are switching to Rockford ... but then again, thats just me. Here is my take on what's happening ... You kicker amplifier is working its ass off to keep up with the demand of your system ... on one side its making power for "All Frequiencies" and on the other side its making power for those subs ... Just way too much for that amplifier's power supply to handle ... You need atleast 2 amplifiers to make your system work ... One very nice 2 channel for the front (preferably a class A/B) and one for your subs ... That way you will have multipler power supplies to give you some headroom and dynamics ... Sutliff
That is why I am making all the changes. And the kicker comps would fry with the power this rf t500-1bdCP is going to put out. Also, the brand new rf amp I am going use for the front stage is an A/B class amp. Sutliff
The kicker stuff, while sufficient, was just a holdover until I got my mitts on what I really wanted ... it took me almost a year to amass everything ... now it is teardown and al rebuild time. White Lightning
And the kicker comps would fry with the power this rf t500-1bdCP is going to put out.I highly doubt that ... If the install and setup is done correctly. I may not run Kicker in my personal vehicle, but I do have alot of faith in Kicker ... They've been around since the late 80s and early 90s going strong for a reason ...the brand new rf amp I am going use for the front stage is an A/B class amp.ok ... thats good The kicker stuff, while sufficient, was just a holdover until I got my mitts on what I really wanted ... it took me almost a year to amass everything ... now it is teardown and al rebuild time.Awesome brother ... Sutliff
All I had/have to go one for the Comps is their power rating ... watts ... capacity ... max at 300. Running right now @ 2-ohm, I am shoving approx 200w a piece to them ... the RF's Birth Sheet states this one tested at 851w @ 1-ohm, which is the load I will be running to the Fi's ... & with a new MechMan alternator, & other upgrades, I hope to take advantage of as much of that expected 400+w/channel. I also DEFINITELY appreciate your offer of future assistance, etc. ... it means everything.
