evermaxx
Are these alternators any good? My friend is rebuilding and he has a 2003 Cadilac CTS and he wants a H/O alt. 250a for 300 seems to good to be true, but I've seen this name around a little. Thoughts? LoudPursuit
They are garbage (speaking from experience). Will work very well in the beginning (just below rated power) but craps out after 4-6months. Spend the extra an get a mechman, DC, singer alt, have heard Ohio gen alts are good too I'd only get Singer if you have a GM car or something that can fit a large-case alt. And the only guy around here local that had an ohio gen alt... Well... It sucked to be honest lol. Didn't put out anywhere near rated. Guest DC Power Kyle
250 Small Case Denso in that car for that price: 1) Idle output will suffer 2) Alternator will not be a new alternator; will most likely be a remanufactured alternator while saying it's "new" 3) Can't fit anything else in there such as a large case GM on that car. You have to use the OEM hairpin. The only worthwhile upgrade would be from going to 180 amps from the stock 130 amp unit for the idle output. mpannell23
I currently have a powermaxusa "250" amp Or whatever it's badged as. Does it work? Yeah. Does it work well? Not really. If you needed a replacement alt with no amps or extra batteries it would be fine. But I wish I had bought a better brand. Currently saving for a DC power. Just my two cents
