I just purchased this amp used locally. Now i'm still in school with no access to my car, so i have a 500 watt computer power i modded to use for bench testing. I hooked up the amp to the power supply and jumped the 12v to the remote and hooked up a cheap 300 watt rms 4 ohm sub just to check to make sure everything works. I powered it on, but i noticed as soon as i turned it on, the sub was moving a lot with no input. the amp is sending low frequency signal to the sub. Any help with this would be very appreciated!

could be the power supply have you tried using a small 12v car battery in line

the power supply might not have a very good ground

could be very possible, i believe my symptom is called motorboating? and im using a 4ft length of 14 gauge ofc directly soldered onto the power supply. I read earlier that too much resistance in the wire creates this. and this is with the gain at 8v bass boost at 0 subsonic at 0 and hp at around 100 with no input at all.

i just hooked it up to a car and it still does the same thing. I used 2 short lengths of 8 gauge to power it.

is the sub free air or in a box?

free air, it moves quite bit with everything set to the lowest
