any time you can increase the flow of signal its a good thing, but you don't want to over load it. If you buy a driver that outputs like 12 volts but your amp can only 8 it's a bad thing. don't buy a cheap one, buy a nice one. remember shit in = shit out.

thats why you have the option of not turning it up all way.

I know this, but I'm trying to teach the OP to check the specs for his amp.
