alaskanzx5 Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 how is your big 3 done to? most people do alt positive to batt positve, engine ground to frame, battery ground to frame. rather then engine ground go from a alt mounting bolt to the frame. it makes for a better return path. also make sure your using the 1/0 gauge everywhere you can and more then 1 run wont hurt. when i did my shopping around for an alt singer alts was the cheapest for me. 250amp alt for 420-430 shipped to alaska. t1500bdcp 2 t2d4 15" 1 t600.4 1 t400.2 1 set p1 tweets singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.
soundstream15 Posted May 3, 2013 Author Report Posted May 3, 2013 I'm still getting that battery, saving up now!! Just thought a alt might be more important. I'm sure by the time I get a bigger amp ill have a new car. My big 3 is done. Alt + to battery + then engine block ground to battery - then battery - to strut tower. I'm gonna replace the engine block ground and go from alt bracket bolt to battery like you said
DeeMan24 Posted May 3, 2013 Report Posted May 3, 2013 Ya I don't know why people run 2k watts but still dont need a new alt..not sure if 2000 watts then 15in Alpine Type R $110 Sub box of Craigslist $40 AudioPipe ap10001d $60 Cheap Schosche 4gu. Wire $15 All from Craigslist, My cheap pounding setup
