Just did this for a new big 3 kit and I'm a believer. Used 1/0 lugs and welding cable, the cable took a bit of muscle to get in as it barely fit but it went in smooth and deep in the end.

I have that same torch! I tried that method today and that shit did NOT work for me, it was seriously jut fuckin up for me. Lol I couldn't even do it open ended, it was a bad day for an install.

you were doing something wrong then, I've done about 30 terminals like this, over and over again,

I may have already said this, but to anyone trying this, the key is filling the terminal 3/4 up with solder, keep on heat, insert wire, let sit for several seconds still on the heat, then get it off there, that time allows the wire to heat up with the solder quick, bond, and once you remove from heat, hold the wire tight, while applying downward pressure to be sure the wire stays as far into the lug as possible while the solder is cooling and hardening, but yea just watching the video, doing it that exact way, it will work every time

Someone on youtube did say i was stupid for using this method because the solder sucks up into the wire several inches, when the whole deal here, is the wire does not get hot like other methods and that could never happen, once the wire is inserted, you hold it there for a few seconds, then remove from heat, what i did in the video is how it should be done,

Here are pics of that terminal NOT sucking solder 2" up the wire as he stated, with the wire cut off about 1/8th of an inch past the terminal, (you can see the sliver of purple jasket)

Why would solder sucking up into the wire be bad anyway other than if you let it get WAY too hot it could melt the jacket? I mean I like your method and that it doesn't get down into the wire (and possibly melt the jacket) but having the solder run into the wire isn't bad. So I don't get what that guys point is anyway.

I still like crimping (like real actual crimping with a 0g hydraulic type crimper) over solder for the simple fact that it is easier and quicker. Even though I don't have one and have soldered all my 0g terminals
