Boofster
I currently have two kicker S15L34's and am in need of help with my box design. I have a general knowledge of how to design the box and the tuning process, but i would feel much better if someone with a bit more experience added their input. I drive a 2000 Nissan Maxima with a cargo space of 15.1 cubic ft if that helps anyone out. I mainly want these subwoofers to hit as hard as possible and to feel it in the cabin. Joe X
Ok, post amp model and max dims for a box that will fit on the way into the vehicle if building outside.
Krakin
People on here will have a lot easier time helping if you say what amp and ohm load. You will also need to list your max dimensions and the type of music you listen to. Ninja'd Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. Guest
you need an amp capable of producing 1000rms at 1 ohm for both woofers. do your rear seats fold? max cargo space doesnt mean anything. take a measuring tape and measure length, width, and height of your trunk. usable space that an assembled box can fit in. Boofster
I have a sound qubed Q1-1200D amp at 1ohm. Each subwoofer is getting about 600rms. Yes the seats fold and the box can be assembled inside the trunk so my max dimensions to work with would look something like this. That is from wall to wall on each side including the displacement of the wheel wells. I mainly listen to rap with the occasional dubstep and house music. All bass heavy genres. Joe X
Ok what's your height.

Boofster
Looking through other threads i have become skeptical of whether i should try to milk as much space from my trunk as possible or just get 12's and build an enclosure for them. Joe X
The more serious problem is that you would need to fire the subs upwards since your height doesn't allow for a vertical installation. firing to the trunk lid leads to reduced efficiency and rattling. I see. Well what do you think would be my best bet? I would gladly pay for a design if you would be willing to help me.
