Posted February 18, 2008 Report Share Posted February 18, 2008 Man I don't mean to sound like the rf backer but wtf happened?Only thing that coulda happened is u started to lose voltage bad, or it just blew. These amps are DAMN SOLID. Very suprising to hear this. I know u know your install so not even a ? on that. Granted I have seen amps from many companys blow when being pushed so hard. what may of happen is that we were doing alot of runs on the acura. the amp got hot and blow the fuse. we didnt know at the time to wait awhile to insert a 300 amp fuse. when we installed the fuse right away, the amp went up in smoke. the new fuse never got a chance to heat up or anything. i helped christain gut the amp yesterday and most of the mofets are gone. i got hooked up through jeremy at RF about my amp. was repaired for free. so christian called up RF and talked to the same guy, lets just say that he is cool as fuck. saved the day again. as far as the t3k's. ive never seen a problem with them before either, till mine and christians took a shit. amp never went into protect either. Might be "ok" for bumpin here and there but if you start stressing the system with a weak electrical system like that, your just asking for trouble. Hey Steve, thanks for the info. Yeah, I pushed this thing beyond HARD that night. I have two Kinetic 2400's in the rear. OK, I hear what you are saying for power. What do you recommend for more upgrades. What do you have for the civic to power those T4000's properly? You think another battery will be enough? Just want to get this going as strong and proper as possible. AND believe me, I DO FEEL YOU on the refurb....Guess the people who choose to by them just have to deal with this shit I guess. Not sure what hi alt u got but you plan on slammin for 30 min then max it all out? 3 min maybee 5 at the start of that session you probally would have been ok. That's rough on everything. No wonder it broke. Funny first thing we think is that POS amp, but after hearing the story, I think u have so much confidence in it you pushed it past the cars limits. Shit suprised? Yep, I slammed on this thing WAY harder than anybody in their right minds should have ( Hell, I was having hella fun see those numbers ) and I learned my lesson on pushing shit rediculously far. 3. I highly recommend the gauge that way u can crank it until u see the problem! I bet u can get the 5 min out of it for a deathmatch though, not sure what batterys u have... Good luck bro! I can wire those so i can see the voltage DIRECTLY at the amps and then I know exactly whats going on. By the time I see you guys at the next show i will be all set to go again.
