Soldering Station Recommendations

Recommended Posts

So my good ol' Craftsmen soldering iron finally took a dump on me, and I figured it was time to upgrade to a little better soldering station anyways. Was looking for some good recommendations. Initially I was going to pick up the Hekko-FX888 but didn't know if I could validate spending that kind of loot for a soldering station until I found out if there was a better/cheaper option. Anyways, looking to get some input and open to suggestions. Cheapest I found the Hekko one was around $80, so anything cheaper that seems to be as nice I am all ears!!!!

Thanks in advance!

I was looking at that one a little as well. Any experience with it? Does it hold up over time?

Ive used my old WELLER since i can remember. Not much of a station per say. But, it has a digi read out, knob control, heats up quick, and its been reliable for me, and thats saying something.

As for a bench,.. a magnet with roach clips is (about 40 of them) is all i have...lol

EDIT

heres the one ive had, and only changed tips on... since... well shit, for ever...lol, nothing special. But, it works for meh...

I have heard good things about Weller and their longevity. I'm going to have to look into them a little more. See if I can come across a good unit for reasonable.

Did you mean WLC100?? The only thing I could find for WLC10 is a soldering tip.
