Hi guys,

My name is Gus. I own a 08' Tundra. About three weeks ago, I installed my fog lights on my truck, and in the process of doing so, I noticed the hack job that was done when I had a Infinity 475A 4ch amp installed, along with Alpine components in the front and coaxial in the back. My HU is a Pioneer Avic-Z2 (which will be upgraded this weekend with a Avic-150BH). I was unhappy with way it was installed and I said I'm doing my own audio from now on.

This is what I installed for my first install.

1. Ripped off all old wiring.

2. HU Pioneer Avic-Z2 (existing, but getting replaced this weekend)

3. Rockford Fosgate T600-4 (Used RF 4g Amp Kit)

4. Polk Audio MM6501 Components in the front. (Re-ran in 14g street wire straight to amp, not from Amp to HU where they were spliced to existing speaker wire).

5. Polk Audio MM651 in the rear

6. I used SMD DD-1, and also purchased the CC-1(future projects I'm sure).

7. Last night I ordered 4 door packs of Damplifier, soon to be installed.

What a difference this made already, I'm happy for now. Just have a couple question for you audio guru's.

1. I have my amp set to AP. Is this where you set it when using Components?

2. When Hip Hop plays too much bass, and speakers pop. What's a good way to remedy this?

3. When the amp is set to AP, and I'm using the CC-1 to set the frequency, the CC-1 doesn't calibrate, is it because amp has to be in either LP or HP in order for the CC-1 to calibrate?

4. What the best way to set-up what I have installed now to get the best results?

Here is a pic of my installed amp. Sorry if post is a bit long. Thanks in advance

Ooo I like that amp. I learned my same lesson when I let little audio shops install my stuff. I try to do my own stuff from now on and I'm wayy happier with it. Good luck and have fun

On the amp, for running a component set, you should set the amp the hpf. Depending on the components, set it anywhere from 80-150 (this is decided upon the components and preference). As far as a song making the speakers pop, turn it down. From the sounds of it, the audio file could be clipped or your crossovers are allowing lower frequencies to pass through.

Welcome to the forum. Everything looks and sounds to be going well. Congrats and good luck.
