okokokokokokokokokokokok I'm finally back on vyvanse after the weirdest month of my life. Not gonna bore you with all the details, but just know everything was stupid and annoying. But, now that the semester started I have some sense of drive to do stuff again lol.

Here's what I need one more time, in great detail, explain the glue process for the spiders and coil and the soft parts. At this point I know how to do it, even fairly well, but there's no point in being as careful as possible now.

-As an update on the thing overall: I was thinking about ways to space the top plate and basket so the coil would sit in a better position, and unless I get one custom machined I think I'm gonna go with one from sundown hopefully. In case that doesn't work out I'm open to ideas that could be done fairly easily. Maybe some aluminum square bars that I cut from one solid piece and drill through? But anything is appreciated.

-Got the alt in as you know, but I'm waiting on the serp belt pulley to get here. Unfortunately, as always the chevelle broke with great timing, stuck in 1st gear, and I haven't been able to get it to the shop yet because I had no way to get there and back in time, and I still need to pick up my new BFG radials from Americas Tire.

When I drop it off they should install all the new serp belt parts and get it going so that I can finally take the old box out and start wiring up for the new one.

-And given what I have seen recently on the back and forth about whether it's best or not should I fuse the alt to batt run, should I go for it? I mean, from what I figured it can only help right? I guess my problem would be figuring out wire limitations. Anyone able to give me a rough estimate of the amp capacity of a 1/0 (skyhigh OFC) run from the alt to the battery if it would be ~2'ft ? I would need to find a 350a fuse too, since I only have 300a on hand.

You need to calculate the place where you want the coil to sit in the gap (centered, overhung, underhung) when at rest then build the spacer to that height.

To attach cone & coil:

(Protip: dry fit everything first!)

-Slide spiders over coil.

-Slide coil into gap to depth required.

-Place shims iniside coil against pole to hold coil away from pole, centered in gap.
-Slide first spider down to appropriate level then glue the triple joint thoroughly

-Glue Outer ring of spider

-Repeat for other spiders

-Glue Surround

-Remove shims from coil

-Glue dust cap

I thin thats everything, have a heck of a headache so its a bit hard to think right now.

which amp do you plan on putting on this monster for in vehicle testing?

I have 2 mtx 1000.1s in there right now, but it should be no problem to have the 3.5k in pretty soon.

For the cone, my basket didn't come with anything besides that soft rubber surround, does the lip of the cone get glued directly onto the metal of the basket, or am I missing a thin plastic gasket ring? I've seen that piece alot and wasn't sure..

Lol I SAID that I already knew how to do it, but it can't hurt to be 100% sure or hear any advice that people have found to be particularly helpful when doing so.

Maybe you remember the difficulties I had at most other steps while building the motor hahaha, I'm not trying to keep that up.

i've never glued to anything but the basket. If there's any other parts they usually sit on top of the lip to make it look clean or under the basket to help seal against the wood
