Even at that thinness? Impressive.

Aluminum is really fascinating. Sometimes it seems really weak, like the jig I have, bends like a pancake. But then double it's thickness and make it a hollow tube and it can tow a 300lb fat guy wakeboarding across the most friction-inducing water in the world like it ain't nothing.

Maybe if I need a recone I'll grab an aluminum one. But for now I want to try the unpressed kevlar pulp one, I hope it can make really nice low transitions smoothly.

Unless you start making a metal close to red hot you usually havent reached the point where you are causing strength/ductile changes. By the time you get to that point the rest of the non-metal parts will have burned away.

I don't necessarily mean like melting hot lol, since aluminums melting point is 660 *C, but I mean't that even now, with the aluminum as thin as it is, you could relatively easily deform it with your fingers, I just wondered if there could be certain scenarios where it could go out of phase with the 250*F heat source it's glued to lol. But I suppose it wouldn't even absorb that much heat with that thin connection it has to the former.

Annnyyyywaayyyyy, back on topic. Since starting a new thread is hard to keep alive, lets talk electrical for a second until I actually talk to this nano technology guy. (he doesn't seem to like to just communicate through email and he wanted to talk on the phone and then decided skype, but I'm at school until 5pm M/W and 6pm Tues/Thurs so I don't really have time for a skype session or see what that accomplishes over a phone call? And he said he super busy last week and this week, so he said next week. Hopefully it's soon because I'm dying over here)

SO, if I am able to get an alt that works on double v-belt set ups, and I can run 16v-ish, and I get a 16v battery; will it possibly damage the rest of the electrical in my car? Keep in mind I have no A/C, or anything like modern cars have. It's as mechanical as it gets, so there's not a huge demand for electricity even as it is, but I'm gonna guess it's not really ready for 16v since the alternator is actually charging higher than that right? Or is that only to the battery? If I go with the 16v system would I need to use a step-down for all the non-audio related electrical?

If you run a MSD box or some sort of ignition box, see what kind of voltage itll handle. Its NOT uncommon for some high HP drag cars to run 16v batts to run the starter, so teres mor power to tarter to crank the engine

Check if your points system uses a diode (or resistor or ballast) relay. They run at about 12v during startup and drop to about 9v for run mode, so going to an 16v setup might be detrimental to you..
