RooTxBeeR Posted May 26, 2013 Report Share Posted May 26, 2013 I was thinking earlier, and I know if you don't have any type of tool other than DMM for tuning amps. You can use that to do a rough setting of where you would be at, based on how much power your amp says it puts out. Well I have a question, since I have my amps tuned with a DD-1. Would I be able to go and use one of the 40Hz tracks to get a voltage reading, do the math and get a rough estimate as far as power. I don't care for a super exact number, I just want something so that I can mark my bass knob to where X amount is and Z amount might be around. So that if I know a track is clean, I can be more safe knowing this amount is over powering but clean, and the other being used for unknown or dirty songs, which I would mark at my Subs RMS. Just thinking, let me know what you guys think. Speakers are mainly inductive so even though they may be rated at "4ohms", their impedance changes with frequency sometimes greatly.
