I already showed a pic of the new batteries under the hood but I also added some more 1/0 from the last install. Added more ground to the primary battery and I already had 1 run of +&- going strait from primary to secondary battery, now I have an additional run going from dist. block from alt. to the secondary and added another run of - from primary to secondary. This way the batteries are connected plenty! But the secondary battery now has a more direct path from the alt. It's still grounded directly from the primary but at least now not ALL current is routed through the primary if that makes sence. I also fused power on both runs at both batteries. So the wire coming directly from the alt to the secondary is fused by the alt and by the secondary battery. Some people dont fuse at the alt some do, I just figure it's a long run that goes through the firewall twice so better be safe than sorry. Since I routed the cable the way I did I figured I should do some fastening down since it's so close to the windshield wiper motor. I covered the moving arm with some rubber tubing and made sure that the cable stays put. But first things first I had to dress up the cable a bit SHCA FTW!

Here's the clearence I had from the wiper arms(they move back and forth and they are very sharp!

Here are where the fuses are for the secondary batt, I wrapped electrical tape around the case to make sure the caps dont accidentaly pop off which has happened before with these style fosgate fuse holders. I dont want that! Hopefully nothing blows because then I have totake this all apart again, but the way I have it set up I shouldn't have any problems. BTW these are secured they arent just floating around in there!

Tonight's progress was cleaning up the cable going through there, I couldn't have peace of mind knowing that cable was that close to the wiper motor unsecured so I picked up some supplies from ace...the helpfull place lol!!

Then the fun began getting all the fasteners screwed down...not much room for power tools in there but I got it done and I feel waaaaay better about that cable under there!!

Yup, wieght off my mind! Still have to tidy up the wiring going from secondary batt to the rear ones. I have 4 runs(2+&2-) going underneath the truck so that will be tomorrows funness!!

Once this truck is rolling again I'll take some legit photo's with an actual camera and post um'. So at least the finished product will be high quality pictures. These construction photo's I'm not worried about being pro grade or anything I'm really just trying to get this thing drivable again...(sigh) in due time...I wan't to make sure this is done right and cleanly so that takes time gathering the right stuff to do it....soon I hope!

So I thought I would post some pics of some batteries I was thinking about using way back before I knew anything about anything. These are batteries that we use in our heavy equipment(ex. front end loaders, track dozers, scrapers ect.) These things are massive! And Heavy!! I am not using these just posting up something interesting some people might not have seen before!!

Build looks great, I like how you organized the crossovers on the b pillar. I can't imagine how that 8.1L does on gas my 5.4L on 35s can burn some gas.

Thanks guys! Yeah it's a hog for sure, I'm lucky to get 10mpg on gasoline. Wierdly my mpg doesn't change more then 1 maybe 2 mpg tops if I'm highway or city...and it doesn't make hardly any difference pulling a fully loaded trailer...btw I'm only on 32" tires, I couldn't justify a lift and bigger tires. I will be putting a 2" leveling kit on this when it's rolling and I have air bags in the rear(for towing) with 2inch spacers so this will sit a little more aggressively than it presently is. I love the look of a lifted truck, not dissing on them at all I just couldn't live with it. I like the way your's looks, that's a clean machine!
