I'm a big fan of building the enclosure for the sub in question, so I agree with Skullz that a new box should be designed and built. Perhaps building more to what THAT new sub of your choosing wants as far as airspace. Most are in the 1-1.5 cube range ported. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. For most efficient and deepest output possible, they may have really wanted it to be in a larger ported enclosure. Either way, at the end of the day, it's just a 2" coil sub and nothing terribly impressive. What is your reason for replacing this sub? Are you looking for more, did it blow, do you want something that will get louder or more sound quality? What is the reason for needing a new sub in an old box?
