Wood's -2011 Altima- AKA "Red Ruby" : New Build (pg.150) #SpringBling

If you've ever worked with metallic paint, you know that it dries dull so you know what that means.... CLEAR COAT!!!!

Here's after the first coat...

I think I was about 3 coats in at this point...

I put a total of 5 coats on and let it dry for at least 30hrs before removing the masking tape... this paint is supposed to fully cure in 2hrs with the right climate but hey, better safe then sorry!

Ok here's where things went south

BUT the good thing about it is its fixable even after being installed so no Worries, Nothing a little touch up paint can't fix

Also This was my first time carpeting and honestly it wasnt as hard as I imagined... the only thing that made it a PITA is the carpet I ordered wasn't wide enough ( ) But the good thing is I had enough slack to round it over the bottom edge so it wouldn't be noticble.. Hell the box will be mounted anyways so its not like it will ever get flipped over when I put it in for good! Also The sides were "dummy wrapped" too BUT the sides fit so tight in my car, you wouldn't even be able to see the sides anyways... so pretty much, where ever its visible (Front, Top and Back when seats are folded), it appears "flawless" lol But hey only i'll know that phahahaha!!!!

Also I used a straight bit to tuck the carpet in that was a little to wide, so I thought of a genius idea to run silicone where the wood color is showing to give it a "2 Tone" effect... Hey gotta do what ya gotta do LOL haha!!!

But anyways heres the final result of the box!!!

And here's with subs in!!

The only thing left to do is install!!! I'll have those pictures up after turkey drag tomorrow!!!!!

Also I forgot to mention that I have so NICE push terminals I ordered from parts express that ill be using thats not included in the pictures, but I'll be sure to snap some when everything is in place!

That's metallic paint that I have to order which is expensive ($25 per can + I have to pay shipping) and also I wanted to have the port be an accent and not have the enclosure be the main focus... Not to mention with paint, there would be too many imperfections for my liking (I'm picky as hell when it comes to my car lol), and even if I got it perfect, there would be a greater chance of it chipping in multiple places while installing and/or in use.... I'd rather keep a nice factory feel to it with a hint of custom!

I think when I add that silicone to the edge in between the paint and carpet, It will look DOPE! and not only that, It'll seal the edges of the carpet too.. getting the best of both worlds (custom and function)

Thank you I put 2 hard weeks into it!! I'm happywith the out come!!

I order my paint through a automotive paint matching company.... Its basically Automotive paint in a can.. Not a brand like Rustoleum, Krylon, etc. Its custom mixed 2k paint in can... My Factory Color is a Metallic Maroon (Tuscan Sunset is the factory name) ... if you ever need a factory color match that isn't in stores, I can shoot you a link thru PM if you need it!

LOL... Man you hav no clue how much those chips are Erking my nerves as it is lol, but since its fixable and I have some touch up bottles on the way, I'm not tripping.. haha... I think it came out nice though... has a nice factory/custom look "at the same damn time" *Future Tone*

Hahahahaha it came out really nice I was expecting the whole box to be painted like that it would of looked super duper awesome. It looks clean now but the main point is that you have bass now don't you?
