BIGGAME510 Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 Going to up grade speakers in my doors from stock to kicker Rs6.5 in the back and RS6.0 in the front using a fosgate p400x4 to run them. Gonna put front tweets in pilers back not sure my vehicle silverado crew cab Question ideas for rear tweets and how do u think the speakers should be mounted for best sound Should I d mat the whole door or just the area by speaker should I just use the door for enclosure or should I use a foam enclosure on the back of the speaker Give me some ideas any would be nice but not gonna cut up the pannels
BoomZoom808 Posted June 18, 2013 Report Posted June 18, 2013 No need for tweets in the rear it just for the passengers enjoyment. Mount them up front in the A pillar or on the dash. Coving the hole with Dynamat will help a lot but doing the whole door will be best if you have the time and money. No need for the foam baffle unless your speakers are getting wet then just cut the back out to protect it from the rain. Most of the time re-using the factory bracket will have a cover to protect it from water damage. 2010 Mazda 3s 2.5L Pioneer DEH-X9600BHS Knu OFC 1/0 SS Platinum AGM / XS Power XP750 Alpine PDX F-4 / Morel Maximo 5 + Coax 5 IA 10.1 / SSA XCON 12
BIGGAME510 Posted June 18, 2013 Author Report Posted June 18, 2013 Guess I should say there component sets so 4 tweets up front maybe to much. I can configure the rear like coax or was thinking up high in the rear pillar cross angled to the front. As far as the d mat I have like 25 sq ft of 60 mil so if I measured correctly should do all 4 doors I may buy 25 more sq ft for giggles and doo the roof.its 4x4 and I get some road noise from 35" tires maybe cover the floor to. U have any other good ideas on designs
john253a Posted June 19, 2013 Report Posted June 19, 2013 Coaxle mount the rear tweeter My personal prefarance is save some coin on the rear and invest in the front And if I remember right the 6.5 come with a 6" adaptor plate if you haven't brought them yet change them to the qs65.2 there a much nicer sounding speaker. Then save some coin and get something like the ks60 or ks65 for the rear Idd use the p400 to bi-amp the front and h/u the rear
BIGGAME510 Posted June 19, 2013 Author Report Posted June 19, 2013 I already have the speakers picked both pairs up for less than 300$ new not used. Ur talking about biamping the mids and tweets front and running backs off the h/u not really sure I'd get enough out of the back what's ur thought of running all 8 biamped tweets on the front channel and 6.5 and 6.0 on the back if I'm looking at the diagrams correctly I can do that just not sure on the separations front back left right I'm using the new front row by kicker for the processing/crossover.which brings another question of whether I need a dedicated crossover/equalizer. For my set up guess I'll call it a work in progress in that department
john253a Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 Most don't want a lot of rear fill so of the h/u is plenty, and even then a lot turn that right down so only sound is from the front unless people are in the rear, Is you want front and rear amped then just run it as a normal 4ch 1component per ch, setup I think you'll be left wanting with only 60rms to thoes speakers, as there not a loud speaker I had 2 sets of qa65.2 on a zx700.5 (75rms a piece) and ended up buying a zx650.4 to biamp them as the volume just waserent there, If you have the coin or haven't got amp invest in a something bigger. Or keep what you have and see if it does what you want and if not get a p300.2 and biamp the front or anothe p400.4 and biamp the hole setup,
BIGGAME510 Posted June 20, 2013 Author Report Posted June 20, 2013 Hummm u hav me thinking which is dangerous I'd like to say money isn't a problem to a point. The issue I'm trying not to go over board guess ill have to c what it sounds like After all I only have a RF p 500 db for the bass and 2 p1/12 4ohm subs for under the back seat gonna run them @ 2ohm silverado doesn't have allot of rm under the seat do well c Thanks
john253a Posted June 20, 2013 Report Posted June 20, 2013 With that much bass I think the 400 will more then keep up with the 500 on 2x 12 But you could always get the matching 500.4 or a bigger 600.4 if you want look nice
BIGGAME510 Posted June 20, 2013 Author Report Posted June 20, 2013 Stop stop stop U r giving me way to many ideas!!!! As u know once your bitten with this hoby nothing is really ever enough!!!! I haven't even finished with what I've started and already thinking bigger bigger bigger mmoooooo power!!!!!!! My subs are temp because i got them from a friend on a trade I'm already looking at sundown shallow 12" to replace them or maybe p3 shallow 12. I'm also looking into the new pioneer 8500 deck because this old kenwood dnx5120 doesn't stream music and really doesn't have much adjustment I like all your ideas I was digging on the 300 idea but was thinking more like another 400 I even started looking for a 1000 all that being said I'm gonna have to finish first to see where I'm at. I had the 400 in my work van with some Tseries 6.5 coax and a p2 12 @ 4 ohm on the 12 and it rocked ill have to post some pics when I finish By the way my wife says I'm to old for this s)(it I just tell her ya baby I'm 45 going on 25 hang on for the ride!!!!!!!!!
