I'm sure the signal is not the cleanest either, but after a month of slamming, I took it out and the only bad thing is the spider has a hole worn in it from tinsel slap. Now the coils do look a bit... off color. Is there a way to tell by looking at your coils if its beginning to burn? I don't exactly know how the process of blowing a sub works, if it gradually does it or it just blows at once, but here are some pictures, you tell me. Posted February 20, 2008 Report Share Posted February 20, 2008 my old 18" bl had bad tensel slap. almost broke through the cone. you coils look alittle on the dark side. that sub is getting its ass kicked by those 1600 watts daily.
