cool... hmm... shall be an interesting voyage... now can say "blown" subs be salvaged for motors and such or does it depend on what fried? I would think its normally a fried coil or blown surrounds is the majority of problems. but ill go read :)

dude I'm liking the idea of changing motors and customizing drivers. where can I find info on how to do it? and where to get stuff at? or is it all just trying and doing?

its a lot of trial and error. You need to collect parts. Some baskets bolt to dome motors others dont.

it may sound better than the original and may not.

Also getting the right coil for the motor can be tricky

Yes that is what you use most of the time, as long as the motor isn't damaged.

It's cool but a lot harder than it looks, that's for sure. And a lot more expensive too! It's usually cheaper to just buy new subs....
