"BOX RISE" is there a way to control it?????

Recommended Posts

so i will be building a new box and i know enough about box building to get good numbers on the mic and dig on the lows BUT box rise is new to me and when i tested my last box it was rising really high @ all frequencies 30-40-50-60. Soooo i was wondering if there is something particular that contributes to really high box rise or if its just something that i have to live with. im sure its a "get some lose some" situation so ANY input would be greatly appreciated. off topic but why dose the BL of a sub-woofer lower with impedance???

daily... not so much

burp yes but its alot of testing and tuning

personally bigger boxs with smaller port gave me less rise.. but their are alot of variables

not sure on the BL thing but i assume its got to do with Resistance with the motor on a 2 ohm is higher so it needs more force.. on a 1 ohm coil its not as resistant so it doesnt require that much force?

i dunno talking out of my ass prolly lol

down rpping vanderbilt. 30 miles from victoria. i own the 3rd loudest setup here out of 3. but i did put together all 3 setups

^^ Cant wait to swalllow Ghost's babies

Lol!! And op there isn't really a way to stop it, I wouldn't worry about it with music. If you want a way to help it I would go with RF constant power amp(s) but I've never worried about it enough to switch amps. The benefit over the cost doesn't seem worth it to me, maybe if I were chasing numbers.. But then again I would've wired to .35 instead of 1.4! Hopefully he don't cut off another finger for this reply a lil drunk but what I said makes sense in my head.

Set that sub on the floor and measure the impedance over several frequencies between 25 and 50 Hz.

Then we can talk about ways to get rid of "floor rise"
