Mr Bigolsworth Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 So I'm running a t1500.dbcp in a 2012 civic si. I currently have a sa-12 and like how it sounds just want a little more air movement. I have a second sa-12 that I just reconed but don't want to loss all my trunk space. So looking to do single sundown z v.3 12 or 15 at 1ohm. What's your opinion? 2002 chevy avalanche Currently have: 2 dc xl 18 set of T2652-s scv-6k Ct sounds 75.4 270a mechman xp3000 d3400 Wanted: saz 200.4 Second set of T2652-s D3100's deadner
OrionStang Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 To answer your question, a single 12 can be plenty loud if you do it right. Then you still have trunk space. But,,, You're gonna need more power too. And more electrical. Just throwing it out there, I got a couple Mayhem 12's for sale, only a couple months old. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
Mr Bigolsworth Posted June 22, 2013 Author Report Posted June 22, 2013 Really trying to stick with my t1500.1dbcp. Bship Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 I have a single btl 15 that I love, but I'm starting a build in my other car with a single 12 because a 15 won't fit firing forward and sealed. go with the biggest that will fit, either will be good I'm sure. OrionStang Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 I don't think you'll see a huge change swapping one 12 for another on the same power. May sound different or get a tad louder. Might wanna try a new box design first, see if you can gain that way. SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread
ROLEXrifleman Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 If you stick with quality 12's or 15's the output won't be that great of a difference on the 15 over the 12 with the same power. What you will have an advantage on is building an optimum enclosure for the 12 vs. the 15 since you want to retain a trunk. Generally 12's in good enclosure are about the size of a minimum spec 15 box. Then again generally doesnt mean shit in the real world cause all that matters is how it sounds in your car. My advice, 12" in a well designed big box on your 1.9K watts. thats a good amount of power for one sub. But what do I know, i'm a 12 year old girl with a power wheels barbie jeep. Mr Bigolsworth Posted June 22, 2013 Author Report Posted June 22, 2013 I have room to fit two 12's. but my sa-12 now is only at 4ohms. I don't want to put 1900 watts on a sa-12. I'd rather get a z v.3 12 or 15. That's what I'm asking. 12 or 15? 2002 chevy avalanche Currently have: 2 dc xl 18 set of T2652-s scv-6k Ct sounds 75.4 270a mechman xp3000 d3400 Wanted: saz 200.4 Second set of T2652-s D3100's deadner
Bship Posted June 22, 2013 Report Posted June 22, 2013 I think in your situation I would pick up another sa 12 and build a good box to make em pound. Might think about alt/batts though. Mr Bigolsworth Posted June 22, 2013 Author Report Posted June 22, 2013 I already have 2 sa-12's but only one is in my car. but I loss my whole trunk with two 12's which I don't want to do. So I'm thinking of going with a more powerful 12 or 15. 2002 chevy avalanche Currently have: 2 dc xl 18 set of T2652-s scv-6k Ct sounds 75.4 270a mechman xp3000 d3400 Wanted: saz 200.4 Second set of T2652-s D3100's deadner
