Karkov
Man I had read your build log before I saw you in St. Joseph, but for some reason didn't put 2 and 2 together that this was your build. Shit we would have had a lot more to talk about! Looks killer man. Any chance I could come your way and have you dd-1 my HU and amps? If I burn something up I want it to be from raw power, not clipping! For sure man! Yea we can get together and DD-1 some things, meet in the middle even. Just make sure everything is hooked up properly so we can DD-1 properly etc. (I.E. do it once and have peace of mind that it is accurate and won't have to get done again and again) for your own benefit I work 2 weekends in Sept. and 2 in oct. then 3 in Nov. so you'll have to let me know whan you get it all hooked up and ready so we can pick a day. I work a lot. 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. Karkov
Well I had the subs installed and playing LAST weekend but have been working every day and just too tired and lazy to post any updates. Still working every day but will post some things up for the time being. I got this in the mail but have yet to install the Pioneer deck... Got the subs mounted in box and the box in and the batteries in and wired. Shitty placement of batteries but I will most likely redo the substage over winter so meh for now 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. Karkov
I was able to upload some videos of it playing as well. I feel the box matches the exterior of the vehicle pretty nicely which is what I was going for so I am happy with that. First video is voltage drop. Not too bad if ya ask me, however I sold 1 of the RF T2500's and am waiting for the BC5500D to arrive so the subs are not on full power in the videos, just a single T2500 ATM. Which brings me to my next thought, subs are loud, hit hard, tingle the ears, rattle and flex shit....but don't seem to play very low.....I messed with settings on HU and amp and of course some songs are deeper than others but generally I don't know if it's because of lack of power going to them or the box (7.9 cubes @35 hertz) but this thing lacks the lows....... Thoughts? 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. Karkov
And of course playing..... it's 90 some degrees out with high humidity so fuck getting any work done outside ATM. Will post more vids. at a later date. 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. scooter99
Won't the batteries there, make a change in the port and tuning? You're closing off some of that port no? Just wondering. Karkov
Won't the batteries there, make a change in the port and tuning? You're closing off some of that port no? Just wondering. Yes, you are exactly right. I'm not to happy about that either, lmao. Really not to many other places for them though, this box is huge, barely room for amps in front of it. With the batts up on the fenders on the sides it looks even more tacky than just having them behind it like they are now. thanks for the input though. Pretty much need to do a wall in this bitch, however it should play lower as is, oh well, next box haha 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. scooter99
If there's room between the enclosure and the door, maybe you could make shelves so the batts sit above the port? I don't know just a suggestion. Looks good man! Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build

I don't know just a suggestion. Looks good man! Thanks man, and yea, thought about building a box with port like Meade's where port is above the batteries. Subs were stiff at first, messed with settings more again today, not sounding too shabby, will see how it is on twice the power it has now when the 5500 comes in. =) 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. graham0599
You could also try back on the wheel wells and just make a trim board. Not sure how it'd look though. Karkov
Alright guys, gonna change some minor stuff this weekend hopefully. hated the 2 previous locations for my batteries so gonna try another spot. This next spot is gonna cut down my space outside the port which is bad but don't have a choice for right now. fuck it New brad nailer Spray adhesive for amp rack, have used this stuff in the past, works great for me, especially when i can walk through the plant and grab it off the line and bring it home. leftover board gonna do a round over on three sides with router then carpet it, then brad nail it to side of box, then mount amps on it with rubber on both sides of screw heads. They didn't have the grey fabric I wanted where I went so i had to go with black, meh, will change setup eventually anyways so not gonna be too picky for now 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq.
