Stephen Dunnington
I'm upgrading my kicker dcvr 12's to 2 sundown SA12D2's. They're rated at 600 rms, but I've heard SA is underrated as fuck. Should I save the extra $150 for the 1500 or would 1500 be too much? and obviously the 1200's are a perfect match but i want moaaaarr powaa. hdorre
Do you think that you'd even hear the difference? If you're competing, that's a different story. CleanSierra
Well, why would get the D2s? Don't you want to run at 1 ohm to get the most out of the amp? If you're getting 2 D2 coiled subs, you'll have to wire at 2 ohms final load, or.5 ohm. Getting D4 coils would allow you to write at 1 ohm and get the most out if either of those amps. What made you think you needed D2s in the first place? Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

CleanSierra
Ugh.... do you have strong enough electrical to back up .5 ohm? I never suggest for a guy to run .5 ohm for daily. Get the right amp and the right coil configuration to run the proper impedance 3 Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. Never had a single issue running 0.5 ohm daily on any of my amps... To the OP: If you are going to run below 1 ohm I would suggest the big 3 in 1/0 ofc with at least one run of 1/0 ofc to the back and a beefy AGM battery (XS power D3100)...If you do that you will be golden...otherwise you may risk ruining your amplifier. CleanSierra
Dude, seriously? We are talking about a 1200 Watt system. Buy the D4 subs and move on. Don't decide to run.5 ohms for a little over 1000W. And to SPLAddict, I'm glad you haven't had issues running .5 ohms, that's fantastic. I don't suggest half ohm for daily, and never will. 1 Quote Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

Whats wrong with my recommendation? Have you had a bad experience with running at 0.5 daily that you now won't recommend it?
