Wicks Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 A battery at ~0.4V is DEAD and won't be intermittently starting your car at all.... Check for loose and/or corroded connections. Test the voltage at the battery/alternator and keep checking it at various places on your way back to the amp. If you see a sudden change then that could be the problem. Measure directly at the alternator with the car running. If you're not over ~13v then you probly have a bad alternator which could cause a bad battery as well, but look for iffy connections first. A battery load-test at autozone is also a good idea to verify your battery. jarrius Posted June 29, 2013 Report Posted June 29, 2013 To find if it is a bad alt turn your car on and unhook your battery if your car turns off its the alt. or with the battery in put a dmm on it with it running it should read 14v or close to it. Also let your car run for a bit befor you check it so the alt can get warm. Last time I took it to a autozone to have them look at my battery that told me both my batt was dead. And both where 100% fine. My problem was a idol control censor. So they almost had me and almost spent 600 or so on a alt and battery.
