Sergeant_Skyrim Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 Fairly simple question I suppose...Basically I'm going to be going with some friends for a 4th of july grill out this week and I was wondering if I'd be safe to have my batteries on a charger while we're all listening to music (just mids and highs on the 1100.4, no bass). My voltage doesn't really drop much as is and takes a while to drop when it's just the mids and highs but we're going to be out there for at least a few hours and I don't really want to dip any lower than 12 I'd think it would be fine to do sort of like how the alternator charges while you're pulling a load on music with the car on but figured better safe than sorry. Any help is much appreciated, thanks for reading Build in progress
Neckbeard Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 ya, aslong as your not full tilt with bass, should be good! Build log, Super slow!!: http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/168096-slow-neckbeards-1970-opel-gt/
Pioneerchuck Posted July 1, 2013 Report Posted July 1, 2013 It should be alright for a couple hours. It's a very dependent question. (how long, what volume, charger, etc). But for the most part if the truck is off and on a decent charger you should only see a slight drain on the batteries if any. Again very dependent. But I wouldnt worry about it.
Sergeant_Skyrim Posted July 1, 2013 Author Report Posted July 1, 2013 Yeah I see a drop to 12.4 after 5-10 minutes with them at full tilt gain set to 0db with DD-1. Didn't plan on playing full tilt but probably a few clicks down. Don't think I've seen it drop to 12.3 yet with car off and I've gone for about 20 min near full tilt before. Just wanted to double check that I wouldn't be hurting the charger or batteries primarily Build in progress
