New gaming computer build, Improvments?

Recommended Posts

Building a new computer what do you think of this list, I don't want to do SLI, I've had it in the past and I've only run into problems. Will only play the games:

  • C&C Series
  • MMORPG's and MMO's Paid and Free MMORPGs

If anyone thinks they can build or modify a cheaper computer than whats listed that that would be good. I'll post my first list and second list. I posted asking on a different forum, I just want to get ideas before I drop a ton of money. Looking to keep prices in the moderate range. Looking for Medium to high. I want a lot of storage.

Can the 760 do what I ask it to? I'm looking to run a single card non SLI, for past and upcoming games on med-high graphics and if possible max it out.

From the benchmarks I've seen it'll run what you've listed on high or maxed out no problem.

Here's a link to some benchmarks: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7103/nvidia-geforce-gtx-760-review

For $150 cheaper it's within 3-10 fps of the 770 depending on what game it is. You could take that $150 and get a k series cpu , a z87 motherboard, and a cpu cooler and overclock for even more performance. Or you could pick up another ssd for raid 0 goodness.

I decided to go a much cheaper route. I'm going to try to build a computer in only the $850.00 range and see what I can get. If anyone has a list of what would be good please do list it.

If you do have a list, Do it in the format of http://pcpartpicker.com/, it does compares prices and such to various websites for hardware.

What I don't need:

  • Moniter
  • Operating System
  • Speakers
  • Sound Card (Well maybe, I have a Recon3D Fata1ty Professional)

What I do need:

  • x2 2TB Hard Drive
  • Optical Drive
  • Motherboard
  • Ram Memory
  • Graphical Card
  • Computer Case
  • Wireless Adaptor
  • CPU

I'm trying to maximize storage if possible, while keeping graphical settings at medium-high settings if possible maxed out.
