big dee
Do not use artic silver on electronic parts where it has the potential to "transfer" as it may short some components out. Ceramic or normal grease (wheel bearing/ball hitch lubricant) work perfectly fine for the most part if you apply it correctly and install the heatsink correctly. wouldnt ball bearing grease or axil grease melt when it's heated? Hopefully, if you use anything solid you're just creating an insulation barrier. Thats why you want only the very smallest amount of thermal grease as possible (none is actually better in many cases if you prepare the mating surfaces by lapping them). MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
