Distotrtion In Components

Recommended Posts

hey. I wanted to ask you guys a question about my car. Up until a few days ago when i installed 0 gauge wiring in my car, my components speakers sounded really good. They are the stock components that come in the mach audio system for an eddie bauer expedition. They use to sound really good when i was running 4 gauge wiring to my amp. But right after i switched to the 0 gauge i started to hear really bad distortion when i turned the volume up. When i turm the bass all the way down they sound fine, even when the subwoofer isnt turned down. I dont know if its the 0 gauge wiring, something i did when installing it, or just a coincidence that it started to do this. If you guys could help me with this problem i would really appreciate it.

sounds like you might be getting the power your supposed to lol... the 0 gauge gives you more cleaner power, so your amp is running better and sending your speakers more power... making your mids distort a lil

naw man i think i might have said it wrong. The 0 gauge isnt going to my component speakers....its going to my amp to power my subs. So im not giving them any extra power than i was before. So what do you think the problem could be?

Sounds to me like something has pulled loose. I would double check all your grounds and any wires along the path of the 0 gauge. I would also look at the rca's, U might of tweaked one in the switch.

You will have more available power to the amp if the 4G wasn't big enough. But I would think you would see more problems with the smaller wire, not the other way around.

Designing, building, and shipping boxes. Yahoo IM - kingsuv00If the listening level is too loud, please inform the driver, so he can promptly pull over, and let you out.

not many cars can get me to pluggin my ears but this one.......damn. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it. :)
