i saw someone do that in real life, and covered it in 4 coats of clear, the only bad thing is the sharpie fades from sunlight in a few months. then back to a blank canvas for them lol

If it is fading under 4 coats of clear then they definitely didn't use a high quality clear. Over time it will potentially fade a little under clear, but not after a few months and a couple coats of a quality clear.
